Patricia Caicedo’s eleven CD recordings of Latin American and Iberian art songs represent a monumental contribution to the preservation and dissemination of this repertoire. Singing in Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, and Indigenous languages, she has brought to life a vast collection of works, many of which were recorded for the first time as a result of her meticulous research. Her albums showcase forgotten gems she unearthed in archives, as well as new compositions written for her by contemporary composers. She has placed special emphasis on the music of women composers, ensuring their voices are heard and recognized in a traditionally male-dominated field. Through her recordings, Patricia has expanded the classical vocal canon, making these rich and diverse musical traditions accessible to global audiences.
